How other Illustrators promote themselves

I found some enlightening information regarding the promoting of oneself as an illustrator on the lovely internet last night. I was delighted particularly by my first stop: Red Lemon Club, I read just about every article they have posted and signed up for their newsletter, not wanting to miss anything they want to share. Several things became apparent as I was perusing, one, that the tutors and the Illustration BA Hons degree course I am fortunate enough to be experiencing covers just about every single conceivable avenue of anything illustration related, that I am using my time very efficiently; especially comforting due to my crazy self-employed, single-parent, studying a full-time degree status.

I found two very helpful articles, one by Jen Betton, who talks specifically about promoting yourself as a children's book illustrator. And the other, an interview with the chairman of the Association of Illustrators (AOI), Rod Hunt, about general illustrator self promotion.
